AU is accessible from all three major airports located in the metropolitan area. Reagan National Airport, near downtown Washington, D.C., is accessible to the AU campus by Metro (subway) and taxi. Dulles International Airport is accessible by Metro (subway) taxi, and a shuttle service. Baltimore/Washington International Airport is accessible by shuttle, Amtrak and MARC trains that run to Washington, D.C.’s Union Station. Guests can then travel on Metro’s Red Line from Union Station to the Tenleytown/AU Metro Stop.

AU is located less than a mile from the Tenleytown/American University Metro Station and shuttle

service is provided daily to the Metro for AU students, faculty, staff, and summer conference guests at no additional charge. The shuttle schedule can be found at http://www.american.edu/finance/ts/shuttle.html. Shuttles run approximately every 20 minutes from 7:00 am until 12:30 am and hours are extended on weekends.  The AU shuttle is accessible for any individuals with mobility considerations.

Parking can be found on campus for $16.00 per car per day from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. There is no charge for parking after 5:00 p.m. or on weekends unless otherwise designated for special campus events. Parking passes can be purchased in advance at https://american.t2hosted.com/cmn/auth_ext.aspx.
